Finding community for all types of family.

Pints, Pups, and 1/2 Pints was born from the love of family and a love of food and drink too. A little while before that whole pandemic thing, we lived in a 680 square foot house in Seattle with a highly active neurodivergent toddler. Sometimes, we just wanted to get out of the house and our options were so limited!

After many attempts through trial and error, we found that a sit-down restaurant simply wasn’t a good fit for our crew. As longtime food and beverage workers, we struggled with the constraints of table-service and manners, and try to conform to the highest standards of consumer behavior from ourselves when we go out. Tip, use manners, be kind, and clean up your mess.

Instead we stumbled upon the world or family-friendly breweries and casual service. We found train tables, play areas, outdoor games — and for the most part, as long as we respectfully purchased a pint, no one minded if we brought some kid-friendly snacks.

Fast forward a few years past a worldwide virus and a move from Puget Sound. The Pints and Half Pints the Facebook group was created to help families like us navigate the thriving Vancouver brewery scene and it has continued to grow over the years. We find these businesses provide such an amazing outlet for families of all abilities, serving not only brews but so many food and beverage options for nondrinkers too. This website is a labor of love for local area small business and families and we hope you’ll continue to keep our community thriving.

From our family to yours,

Cheers!
